The Asus Zenfone 4 is an old series that was released by AsusTek Computer Inc. in 2014 as an entry level device with fairly good specifications to get the job done very well. After the company garnered success with its successor, the Zenfone 5, Asus set out to rejuvenate the phones once again, and came up with the Zenfone 2 series the next year, i.e. in 2015. The Zenfone 3 was launched the following year in 2016, with the Zenfone 3 Deluxe being the flagship premium device from the Taiwanese manufacturer. This year, the company is set to improvise and bring forth the next generation of the Zenfones, the Zenfone 4 2017 series!
The company has apparently sent out invitations and promotions for an event in Taipei on August 17, when the Zenfone 4 will be revealed to the world, subsequently followed by another event in Philippines on August 19. Once the phone is launched it will eventually released in the rest of the world. We are expecting the phone to come to UAE by September and should be available for purchase both online and offline. To confirm the event, we also saw multiple tweets and promotional posters posted online by the company.
The Zenfone 4 series will include five variants – the proprietary Asus Zenfone 4 ZE554KL will be the standard phone, the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie with a dedicated selfie camera, Asus Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL for long battery and Asus Zenfone 4 Pro Z01GD with premium specifications, according to the reports and speculations based on their previous history. Every phone from the series will have its own unique selling point. The Zenfone 4 Max is already out in Russia with an Octa-Core processor, falls in the category of 4GB RAM phones and 32GB internal memory. The phone has a 13MP camera, with multiple shooting modes.
The next series of the Zenfones is apparently going to follow the trend popularised by the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. The phones will sport a dual-camera system. Asus is hushed up about it, that they haven’t told anyone the specifics of the camera. So we don’t know for sure which sensors will be used in the camera system. Rumours have it that Asus will be taking their cameras one step further with the next generation using a 21MP sensor for super high-resolution images. The Zenfone AR already hosts a triple-cam system, with the main camera capable of capturing 23MP images, with Ultra High-Res mode for taking up to 92 MP images. Although this may not be the case in the ones that are coming up, this still goes a long way to say that Asus will be implementing some extremely great photography apparatus.
There is nothing much about the phones that’s known, partially because of the long list of the phones and partially because Asus is better at keeping secrets that Samsung. We perhaps already know most of the features of the Galaxy Note 8, but not much known about the Zenfone 4. One thing is however, for sure. The Zenfone 4 series will surely bring tough competition to all the segments and top selling phones, including OnePlus 5, Galaxy S8 etc. Let’s wait and watch the action unfold.
