In what could be the most reliable leaks of a phone this year, we just came across some from a reliable source. The renders show a black coloured slim device with some beautiful looks. If the rumours are two, we could be looking at the next ultra-premium phone from Google- The Google Pixel 2. These renders are freshly surfaced and are probably are first leaks reported in UAE about the upcoming device. The phone has long been rumoured to be upcoming and has constantly been in the news. This is perhaps the first major leaks about the next flagship from Google in weeks.
The largest company in the world, which also happens to be the inventor of the Android operating system, entered the smartphones market long ago, with the initial Android phones being powered by the software manufactured by Google Inc. Google eventually decided to manufacture their own phones and bought Motorola Mobility in 2011, but later on sold the division to Lenovo. In 2016, Google launched its series of Android devices, under its own brand name.
The first Google Pixel was released on October 20, 2016. The first phone from Google was a complete package of extraordinary features and performance configuration. The launch of the Pixel and Pixel XL was a direct challenge to the authority of Samsung and Apple. Though the phone did not register a lot of sales, the result was much better than what Google had initially expected, and the Pixel was successful. It has been since March, when we first reported a leak about the device, which the rumour mill has constantly been churning around the news about the successor of the first phone from Google.
The latest leaks showcase the renderings from a reliable source, and this could indeed be how the next device from Google looks. Even though there hasn’t been any statement about the phone from Google, we could be seeing an elegant device that has curved edges but sharper this time compared to the last one.
Looking at the overall picture, the design is very much similar to the last Pixel. We still have a glass back; this time it’s apparently smaller. The fingerprint sensor is still placed the same way; however since the glass is smaller this time, the sensor goes into the metal part. The camera though is still a part of the glass panel. Looking from the renders, the camera bump looks very small to nil. The device appears a little larger, and the bezels appear smaller than Pixel. Otherwise, the phone has a look and appearance very similar to the Pixel XL. This might equally be possible that we are looking at a Pixel XL 2. However, our sources have claimed that this phone essentially is Pixel 2.

As far as the configuration is concerned, the phone is still rumoured to sport the SnapDragon 835 Octa-Core SoC chipset, 4GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and will run Android v8.0. The phone will have an AMOLED panel QHD+ display and will support single SIM (nano) and no expansion options to the storage. Since there has been no change in the configuration rumours, we can still believe that this is what we’ll get when the phone arrives.
So far, the configuration of the phone seems realistic and given the expected price of 3000 AED the Pixel 2 will be available at. The launch of the Pixel 2 will take place most probably after the Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone 8 series; which may affect the sales, however, Google appears confident that the next batch of the Pixel series will be better not just in performance but also regarding sales and looks. As far as we are concerned, we are in love with the device’s looks and are looking forward to getting our hands on the phone.
