Lenovo K8 Note was under the wraps for a very long time. Although we had picked up the hints of the phone’s arrival, Lenovo managed to keep its specifications under the curtain well, and not much was revealed. The launch event of the phone is scheduled for today, and Lenovo will be streaming the event live on their youtube channel, as well as on Facebook. The Lenovo K8 Note will be placed in the budget segment will target customers in the middle-class.
The phone, since it’s being targeted in the mid-range is entering the market to compete with the best selling devices, such as the Redmi 4A, Redmi 4, Moto C Plus, Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro, etc. The phone will not be anything fancy and will focus on basic utility factor instead of running behind luxury fancy features.
The phone will not be some outdated piece of hardware that’s being pushed forward as a ‘latest smartphone’ though. The Lenovo K8 Note will be as much a latest phone as possible. The phone will run on the Android v7.1.1 Nougat; Lenovo has this time decided to switch to stock Android and will be ditching their Vibe UI for this phone. The hardware will be running the MediaTek Helio X20 chipset. We have news about the phone having 3GB RAM, but there might be a 4GB variant as well, for a little more. Internal storage will be 32GB. The 4GB RAM version may have 64GB internal storage.
Also, just like other models in its range, the main focus will be on the utility factor and so will have a 4000 mAh battery to power the phone. The device will be running for a long time on a single charge, even after heavy usage. Also, Lenovo is following the trend that has picked a lot of pace since last year – the dual camera. The dual camera of the Lenovo K8 Note will be a 13MP(primary) + 5MP(Secondary) camera setup, with the secondary camera installed to serve the purpose depth perception. The front camera will optimised for the selfie crazy generation and will have a 13MP resolving power with a wide-angle lens.
The past few years have been a little tough for Lenovo. The company saw some decline in its smartphone sales and has been trying to garner more and more attention from after, after slipping from their 2nd rank as the largest smartphone maker in terms of volume. They recently even acquired the ‘Moto’ brand, with the intention of garnering up more and more sales for the company. The launch of the K8 Note is expected to boost up the sales for the company, as the phone is placed in a range that is well suited for most of the people across the entire UAE. Let’s see what’s revealed after the event.
