HMD Global is keen on recapturing the smartphone market completely. As of latest, the news is Nokia 7 launched! The latest phone from Nokia has been launched with the Snapdragon 630 chipset and the trademark ‘bothie’ camera that was first seen in Nokia 8. The phone marks the next move from the Finnish company to gain back the territory they lost to the competitors, Samsung and Apple over the years. As of October 2017, Nokia has claimed to have sold over 5 million Android devices. This latest launch is only going to boost the sales, as the phone has been launched in the higher budget range.
The Nokia 7 has been launched in China for 2499 Yuan, which corresponds to 1380 AED. Most likely, the price of the Nokia 7 would be kept at 1399 AED. Given the specifications of the phone, the phone has been priced very competitively. The other variant of the phone is priced at 2599 Yuan. This would be somewhere 1499 AED in Dubai. For a phone with the specs announced, the Nokia 7 is sure to make a lot of money.
Nokia 7 Configuration and Specifications
Nokia 7 would be running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Octa-Core chipset with Cortex A53 cores. The Snapdragon 630 is the improved version of the already tested SD625, which is found in Moto G5 Plus and Asus Zenfone 3. The new chipset is sure to offer superior performance and great power management. The phone would be launched in two memory variants. One with 4GB RAM and other with 6GB. The internal memory for both variants would be 64GB, expandable by another 256GB.
The phone would run on Android v7.1.2 Nougat for now. An update to Android v8.0 Oreo may come up later on. So far, only Google Pixel 2, Google Pixel 2 XL and Nexus devices have the Android Oreo. The Updates for Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8, Zenfone 4, Xiaomi phones etc. will be released later on. Nokia may receive their share around the same time.
Nokia 7 Camera
Just like Nokia 8, the camera of the Nokia 7 is its main attraction. The camera of the Nokia 7 has a 16MP sensor on the rear panel and a 5MP sensor on the front panel. The camera of the Nokia 7 can take some stunningly beautiful pictures, though the rear panel is not a dual-lens setup. Also, the ‘bothie’ feature, as was marketed by Nokia during the Nokia 8 launch has been included in the Nokia 7, using which, a person can snap, record and live stream using both the cameras simultaneously.

So far, the device is available only in China, with a launch in the US, South Korea, UAE, India and rest of Asia Pacific in line. The phone will be available for orders from October 24. Expect the phone to be launched in Dubai very soon.
The company has begun its walk of honour. Nokia appears to be back on its feet, despite the brand being owned by another company now. It is only to be seen how far this goes. With giants like Lenovo, Huawei, Samsung and Apple already capturing a lot of smartphone market, it won’t be easy for Nokia to go back to the glory they once enjoyed.
