Apple Inc., arguably the most popular smartphone brand in the world is preparing for the launch of its next generation of iPhones. If all falls in the right place, Apple might be able to launch their next gen iPhones, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, in September, on-time, much to the relief of fans, who were rattled by news that iPhone launch may be delayed due to various reasons – main reason being that the company may not be able to integrate the home button and fingerprint scanner beneath the OLED panel. However, according to many leakers and some ‘news’ on Twitter, we will be able to see our iPhones well on time.
According to my sources: DVT started last month. PVT will start between June and July. Final mass production in August for September launch. https://t.co/2M2YyMjyi8

Recently, there had been news about a possible delay in the launch of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The reason was a number of problems the R&D team at Apple had been facing with the OLED panels, that they plan on installing in the new iPhones. Reportedly, the team wasn’t finding any success in making the fingerprint scanner work from underneath the display panel. Apparently, Apple seems to have solved this problem and is fast gearing up getting all necessary approvals, certifications, and begin mass production of the next-gen iPhones. This news can be backed by the fact that Apple has recently even applied for a patent to hold a technology that allows a home button along with an embedded fingerprint scanner to be present beneath the display panel.
Another problem that was probably hampering the supply chain was a low yield of the OLED panels that Apple wants to incorporate in the devices. However, even that problem seems to have either been resolved or was never present in the first place, as Apple has reportedly placed an order of 70 million OLED panels with Samsung.
We may safely say that everything is going well with Apple’s plans and we might get to see the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus by the end of September. Apple launches its devices around the same time every year with some, or the others feature totally new. Last time, Apple had brought a 12MP+12MP dual camera setup in the iPhone 7 Plus, much to the delight of fans. Before that, Apple had introduced the ‘lightning charging’ cable, which had surprised the users, with many people angry yet happy.
The new iPhone is expected to bring more such changes, which of course includes an OLED panel, but also, will probably offer more screen space on the front panel, making the phone almost bezel-less with the home button embedded beneath the display, along with a fingerprint scanner, that will ‘revolutionize’ the way sensors are placed on any device. Also, a bezel-less display is apparently Apple’s answer to Samsung’s ‘infinity’ display.
