The year has not ended and we are receiving updates on the smartphones releasing on 2018. The news circulating around about the launch of Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and another device which rumoured to be named as Galaxy S9 Mini.
The aforementioned smartphones will be unveiled in March 2018. According to one of the sources, the 5-inch S9 mini would have a curvy “edge” infinity display. The news about the Samsung S9 mini should be taken with a pinch of salt as it is just a speculation. We may need to wait for more updates.
According to a cross-platform website Geekbench, the Samsung SM-G95F which is possibly the Galaxy S9 Plus would run on the latest Android Oreo. There is also speculations about the processor S9 might feature. The latest Snapdragon 845 is believed to feature in Samsung S9 and S9 plus in the US while Exynos 9810 might be sported in these devices for the rest of the world.
Samsung considers Exynos 9810 chipset has “3rd-generation custom CPU cores, upgraded GPU, and gigabit LTE modem with industry-first 6CA support.” With the six carrier aggregation(6CA) in-built, it would support 1.2Gbps download speed at most, surpassing the 1Gbps downloadable speed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 supports.
Samsung made the “mini” version of the premium phones having the same resemblance. We hope that Samsung and the other smartphones brands change the strategy and release independent mid-range smartphones instead of making the smaller phones of their flagship models.
