The Gionee P7 Max will be launched in October of 2016. Gionee is popular for making phones that are good in looks and deliver in performance while keeping a low price tag. The P7 Max is a bigger variant of the P7 with more memory and a bigger screen size. It comes with the very elegant design of ripple effect pattern, along with the transparent & glittering texture. The back arc and smooth body of Gionee P7 MAX make the perfectly comfortable grip. The other new feature of Gionee P7 MAX is user-friendly UI that is Amigo 3.2 that beautifully complements your Android 6.0 experience. With this feature, one can apply funky themes & mood wallpapers to app managers & impressive lock screens. The combination ensures you to give the best performance every time. In this review, we look at the specs of the phone
At 0.35 inches, this is a very thin phone coming from the Chinese phone manufacturer. The phone weighs in at 183g. It has a 5.5 inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720x1280 which translates to a pixel density of 267 ppi. The screen size is a big bump from the screen of the P6.
Another feature of this phone is the huge screen to body ratio of 70%. Gionee has managed to reduce the bezels on this phone by a big margin. The top of the screen has the front camera and the speaker. The bottom has three capacitive touch buttons. The back of the phone has the camera and below it is the LED flash. The speaker grille is at the bottom.
In terms of performance, the phone is powered by an Octa-Core 2.2 GHz processor. The Mediatek processor will give the phone a swift and smooth performance. It will be able to run demanding apps like Asphalt with ease and multitasking will be a breeze on this phone. The phone comes with a 3GB RAM and an internal memory of 32GB. Gionee is yet to confirm whether the memory will be expandable. The phone will also have a PowerVR Graphical unit. It seems that Gionee is following suit with Samsung and trying to include virtual reality in its phones. However, it still has a long way to go as the 720p screen will look pixelated in most VR Headsets. The phone will come loaded with Android marshmallow with its custom built Amigo UI on top of it.
The primary camera on the phone has been confirmed to be a 13MP snapper. It has features like Geo tagging, Auto focus, HDR and Panorama. The camera should be able to take good pictures with good contrast and colours. Videos on the phone can be shot at 1080p at 30 ps. However, those videos will not look as good on the 720p screen. The secondary camera on the phone is a 5 MP snapper good for taking selfies and video calling. Other than that, there are no other special features on the phone like IR blasters or fingerprint scanners. This is a disadvantage to the Chinese manufacturer considering that other manufacturers have phones with these features.
The phone has a 3100 mAh battery. The battery should be enough to power the phone for a day for regular users. However, with no fast charging options, the phone will have to be charged for a long time to charge the 3100 mAh battery completely. In terms of connectivity, the phone has all the connectivity options of other phones like radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB.
