Huawei has been able to capture a decent share of the smartphone market, and recently their smartphones seem to be doing well in the markets too. Recently there has been leaks online that revealed that the company has been working on the new Huawei Mate S2 smartphone. The Huawei Mate S2 shall be the successor to the Huawei Mate S smartphone. Details about the upcoming device were found on the TENAA website, and the leaked images were also spotted online. So, let's see how this smartphone might turn out to be in real life and what upgrade it might bring over its predecessor.
According to the leaked images online, it looks like the phone has Huawei’s branding on the front. The phone appears to have the same generic setup like any other smartphone with the added difference that there are no physical home buttons provided on the phone. The most discussed part about the phone is its look from the back, as looking from the phone looks exactly like the Nexus 6P. As we know that last year, Google launched its Nexus 6P Smartphone which was manufactured by Huawei, and we believe that Huawei simply reused the design for its new smartphone. According to the online reports, it is believed that the phone shall feature with the same pressure sensitive display seen in Huawei Mate S. It is believed that the volume rocker and power buttons shall be provided on the right edge of the phone and the stereo speaker shall be provided on the bottom edge of the phone. At the back panel of the phone is expected to be the fingerprint scanner. It is rumoured that the phone shall feature with a 5.5 inch full-HD IPS LCD capacitive display that would provide a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is believed that the screen would be protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass, thus making the display resistant to scratches. The FHD display shall provide a pixel density of 441ppi this making the screen rich and vibrant. The FHD display shall get bright enough to provide fantastic sunlight legibility, and the viewing angles shall be decent too.
According to the online rumours, the phone is expected to feature a 1.70GHz Octa-core processor that would be backed by HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset. The HiSilicon chipset shall prove to be powerful enough to provide a seamless Android experience. The phone is expected to run on Android platform, and we hope it would feature with latest Android version 7.0 i.e. Nougat with the help of Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1. The phone is expected to come with internal storage of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB and internal storage could not be increased by its users. The phone is expected to come with 6GB of RAM, which we think would be more than enough to play all kinds of apps. The phone shall support dual SIM and would definitely support 4G/LTE networks.
It has been rumoured that the phone shall feature a 16MP rear camera that shall be backed by autofocus and flashlight. The camera features would include Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. Shooting modes should include Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). HD video recording would be done by the camera. The front shooter is believed to be provided with an 8MP camera. With the rumoured specs one can believe that the camera would be able to take some pretty decent images. A loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm jack with active noise cancellation and a dedicated mic is also expected to be provided with the phone.
It is believed that the phone shall feature with a 3500mAh Li-Ion non-user replaceable battery. It is rumoured that the battery would support quick charging and with such specs, one can easily expect the phone to work for a complete day with heavy usage. Talking about connectivity options, the phone is expected to feature with Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi 802.11, a/ac/b/g/n/n 5GHz, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.2, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC and microUSB 2.0. The other sensors that are expected in the phone are the Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Compass and Accelerometer.
