Huawei has recently started focusing seriously on their budget friendly smartphones and adding to that class of smartphones, Huawei, recently launched its Huawei G3 smartphone. Not only the smartphone offers decent processing power but also offers a range of connectivity options at a decent price range. In this review, we will see how this smartphone works in real life.
Talking about the external dimensions of the phone, it has physical dimensions as 143.5x71.0x7.6 inches, which makes it an optimum sized phone. The phone weighs 135 grams, which makes it a rather lightweight smartphone. Regarding the color variants of the phone, it comes in three color variants i.e. gold, silver and gray. Overall, the phone has a rather traditional design and looks has a decent appearance overall. The one downside we did observe with this smartphone is the fact that its body attracts a lot of fingerprints and smudges. Talking about the display of this phone, the Huawei GR3 features a 5.0 inches HD display that provides a screen resolution of 720x1080 pixels that roughly translates to 294 pixels-per-inch pixel density. The display looks decent enough; however, you can’t expect it to have a display like the q-HD display that comes in few smartphones.
The phone is powered by a 1.5 GHz, Cortex-A53 64 bit Octa-core processor which is backed by a MTK MTK6753T chipset. Thus, making the phone have enough juice to provide a lag free experience. The octa-core processor makes sure that the smartphone experience remains pleasant and the games and videos play without any lags or hiccups. The smartphone offers 16GB of internal memory, which could be expanded up to 128GB using the microSD card slot provided in the phone. The phone runs on Android OS, version 5.0.1 (Lollipop), with the help of Huawei UI 3.1 Lite. To make the interface user-friendly, the smartphone is backed by a 2GB RAM. The phone offers dual-SIM functionality and supports 4G/LTE networks.
The phone features a 13MP primary camera that is supported by a LED flashlight, and the front shooter is provided with a 5.0 MP camera. The images captured by the phone are decent; however, low light photography is not that great. Talking about multimedia, the phone features a stereo loudspeaker, 3.5mm audio jack with active noise cancellation and dedicated mic. The phone also features MP4/XviD /H.265 player, MP3/WAV/eAAC+/Flac player, Photo/video editor and a Document viewer. There are three sensors provided in the smartphones, such as G-sensor, light, and proximity.
The battery provided in the smartphone works averagely. Having topped with a 2200 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery, this phone can work for an entire day with light to moderate usage. It is expected that the battery would work for 260 Hours on stand-by mode and 10-Hours on talk time. The phone does not support fast charging. The smartphone also have the basic functions, such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth version 4.0, A-GPS, GLONASS, FM Radio and microUSB version 2.0.
