Lenovo has been in the smartphone business quite some time now, and they seem to be doing well in terms of sale and average growth. They seem to continuously innovate their products in the most cost effective ways. Lenovo has been able to capture a fair share of a market in the budget segment of smartphones. Recently there has been a lot of rumours and speculations for the next series of smartphones that would be launched by Lenovo in the upcoming features. One such smartphone is Lenovo PB2-650N, which was recently spotted on the website of TENAA, the telecommunications equipment certification agency in China. So, let’s see how this smartphone might turn out in real life.
According to the leaked images online, one can certainly deduce that the smartphone is rather big. Looking at the images, it appears that the phone has a plastic body with premium finish. It seems that dual speakers are provided on the bottom part of the rear panel and a Dolby logo is present on the top of the speakers. The presence of Dolby logo hints that Dolby audio enhancement could back the audio quality. According to the specs found on the Chinese rating agency, the phone features with dimensions as 174.9 mm tall, 89.57 mm wide and 8.65 mm thin, thus making the phone pretty big. It is also listed that the phone shall weigh around 230 grammes, thus making the phone quite heavy. The phone is expected to feature a 6.47 inch IPS display that would provide a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The display shall have decent viewing experience and sunlight legibility too.
According to the online reports, the phone shall feature a 1.3 GHz quad core processor that would be backed by a 2GB RAM The exact specifications of the processor is not available at the present moment. However, we believe that the phone might feature with a Qualcomm chipset. It is also believed that a 16GB of internal storage would be provided in the phone and the memory could be expanded up to 128GB using the microSD card slot provided in the phone. Though we cannot comment on the performance of the phone beforehand, however, the processor would be powerful enough to provide a seamless android experience. The phone is expected to run on Android OS, that too Android version 6.0.1 i.e. Marshmallow. The phone shall allow dual SIM compatibility and would support 4G/LTE networks.
According to the online reports, the phone shall feature with an 8-megapixel rear camera that would be backed by a LED flashlight and autofocus. The front shooter is expected to feature a 5-megapixel camera. The various shooting modes shall include Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). The Camera Features shall include Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus.The camera of Lenovo smartphones have always been average and we don’t expect much from the camera. Just like other Lenovo smartphones, this camera would be able to capture decent pics and might suffer in low light conditions. Overall, the camera section could easily become one of the best part of the phone. The phone would feature with loudspeaker and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Lenovo phones seem to have amazing battery life and we can certainly hope that the battery provided in this phone shall work great too. It is believed that the phone would feature with a 4050mAh battery. There is no information if the battery would support quick charging or wireless charging. With the current battery specifications, we expect that the phone to work for a complete day with heavy usage. The connectivity options shall include 4G/LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.1, A-GPS and microUSB 2.0.
