Since more number of consumers are switching to smartphones these days, smartphone manufacturers are trying hard to make competitive entry-level smartphones. LG is one such smartphone manufacturer that has been able to manufacture a wide array of smartphones. The best part about their smartphones is that not only they look fresh but are also able to stand out among other smartphones. LG recently launched the LG Fortune smartphone. Not only the smartphone comes at a low price tag, it also carries all the modern features needed in a decent smartphone. The smartphone offers high utility and offers an ergonomic grip too.
The phone has a rather traditional look with matte finish provided on the back panel of the phone. The general geometry of the phone consists of a rectangular design followed by slightly curved edges. The speaker grille is provided on the bottom part of the rear panel and the volume rocker buttons are provided on the left edge of the phone. The power button has been provided on the rear panel of the phone. The phone doesn’t come with a physical home button or soft touch capacitive buttons. The device has external dimensions 144.78 x 72.4 x 7.9 mm. Also the phone weighs around 135 grams, which is impressive in our opinion. The device is available in just one color i.e. Black. The phone comes with a 5.0-inch FWVGA capacitive touchscreen that provides a screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels and roughly corresponds to 196 ppi rich screen. The screen looks decent and gets the job done. The sunlight legibility is barely satisfactory and so are the viewing angles. Overall, the phone has decent design and display.
The phone comes with a 1.1GHz quad-core processor that is backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 chipset. The processor is also backed by 1.5GB of RAM. The processor used in the phone is competent enough to play light games and apps on the phone. However, when running multiple heavy apps, users occasionally encounter lag, especially while closing all applications open in the background. The Adreno 304 GPU used in the phone makes sure that graphic performance of the phone is good enough for games and videos. The phone runs on Android v6.0 Marshmallow. The phone comes with 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a microSD card. The phone also supports 4G/LTE networks.
The LG Fortune sports a 5MP AF camera with LED flash on the rear panel. Also, a 5MP front camera has been provided in the phone. The primary camera supports basic functions like Touch to focus and offers shooting modes such as Continuous Shooting, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). The manual camera setting includes Exposure compensation and ISO control. The camera is capable of HD Video recording. The camera provided in the phone works in a basic manner. It captures images, but one cannot expect the cameras to provide high quality images. The camera serves more as a utility than luxury. The image quality deteriorates significantly when used captured in dim lighting conditions. The front camera captures some good selfies but serves best for video calling purposes only. The phone features a loudspeaker that gets reasonably loud and also comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack.
