LG has a habit of producing amazing flagship devices. All of their smartphones work great and offer impressive performance figures. Currently, LG is planning to launch its next flagship device i.e. LG G6. Along with the mainstream G6 model, we are expecting different variants of the phone to be launched along with it. One such variant is LG G6 Compact.
There are numerous online reports that suggesting the looks of the phone. Almost everyone is anticipating that the G6 compact would be given a look exactly similar as the LG G6; only added difference that it would come with a smaller and more manageable display. According to the ‘leaked’ images that were circulated online and went viral, the volume rocker seems to be provided on the left edge of the phone and the power button on the right. The camera module appears to be provided on the back of the phone and just below it the fingerprint scanner is to be provided. It is also believed that the phone will have a 5.0 inch full-HD IPS LCD display that would provide a screen resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels. The display is also expected to be provided with a Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The UHD display is bound to provide a fantastic viewing experience. Overall, the phone seems to have all the ingredients to make it a hit smartphone.
There are contrasting reports regarding the processor that can be expected in the upcoming phone. According to some online rumors, the phone might not have the same processor as that of LG G6, while many reports suggest that the phone will have the same processor provided in the phone, as that provided in LG G6. Even if the phone came with a less powerful chipset, the phone should be able to provide a decent android performance. The phone is expected to run on Android platform and we hope it would feature with the latest Android version i.e. 7.0 (Nougat). The phone is expected to come with internal storage of 64GB and the internal storage could be increased up to 256GB using a microSD card. The phone is expected to have 4GB of RAM, which will prove to be enough for running all kinds games and apps. The phone is believed to support one SIM only and would definitely support 4G/LTE networks.
LG provides really great cameras in its high end flagship devices and many reports suggest that the LG G6 Compact might have the same cameras as its elder sibling i.e. LG G6. So, the phone is expected to feature with the same Dual-lens 16MP (29mm, f/1.8) + 16 MP (12mm, f/1.8) PDAF camera w/OIS and LED flashlight. The camera features would include Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus, HDR, time lapse, panorama and other camera modes. Shooting modes should include Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). If the same camera is installed in the LG G6 Compact, we can very well expect the camera to be able to record FHD videos at 1080p@30fps. The front shooter provided in the phone would feature with a 12MP camera. With the rumored camera specifications, one will be able to capture some amazing and highly detailed images from the camera. The 12MP front camera is easily capable of capturing amazing and highly detailed selfies and provide great video calling experience with Skype, Facebook messenger, whatsapp video calling etc. A loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm jack with active noise cancellation and dedicated mic is also expected to be provided with the phone.
There are many reports online that suggest various possible battery specs that can be provided in the phone, but there is no solid speculation as to what kind of battery can be provided in the upcoming phone. However, many reports do suggest that a non-removable Li-Ion can be expected in the phone. The battery is also expected to support fast charging. Since, the phone shall have decent hardware, the battery too is expected to provide a decent backup. Talking about connectivity options, the phone is expected to feature with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/nac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth version 5.0, A2DP, LE, aptX HD, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFC, Infrared port and USB version 3.1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and USB On-The-Go. The sensors that are expected in the phone are Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass.
