LG has been producing some fine flagships seen by the smartphone industry. One of their most successful flagship series is its “G” series of smartphones. After it was confirmed that the company was launching its next G series smartphone i.e. LG G6, the company registered different versions of its LG G6 smartphone. The different versions included G6 Compact, G6 Lite, G6 Hybrid, G6 Prix, G6 Forte, G6 Fit, G6 Young, and G6 Sense. Of all these smartphones, the LG G6 Lite caught our attention.
According to the online reports, the phone will look quite similar to the LG G6, with the only difference being that of lighter specs. The volume rocker seems to be provided on the left edge of the phone and the power button seem to be provided on the right edge of the phone. The camera module appears to be provided on the back of the phone and below which is the fingerprint scanner. We believe the phone will have a 5.0 inch full-HD IPS LCD display that would provide a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The display is also expected to be provided with a Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The FHD display is bound to provide impressive display to the phone and there will be no problem with the display of the phone in terms of viewing angles and sunlight legibility. Overall, the rumored design appears to be pretty solid and eye-catching.
According to the online rumors, the phone will not run on the same processor expected in the LG G6; instead we believe the phone will run on a less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Even though the phone might feature a less powerful chipset, one can easily expect the phone to provide powerful performance. The phone is expected to run on Android platform and we hope it would work on Android v7.0 i.e. Nougat. The phone is expected to come with internal storage of 64GB expandable by 256GB via an external microSD card. The the phone is expected to be loaded with 4GB of RAM, which should be more than just enough for all kinds of multitasking and gaming requirements. The phone is believed to support one SIM only and would definitely support all 4G/LTE network bands.
It has been rumored that the LG G6 Lite will have a Dual-lens 16 MP (29mm, f/1.8) + 16 MP (12mm, f/1.8) PDAF camera backed by Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an LED flashlight. The camera features would include Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. Shooting modes should include Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). The camera will also record FHD videos. The front camera provided in the phone will be 12MP camera . With the rumored camera specifications, one can easily expect to capture very fine images. Though the rumored specs would not be the same as that of G6, we believe the company would not change the camera specs for LG G6 Lite. The 12MP front camera is easily capable of capturing amazing and highly detailed selfies; and work very good for video calling and other functions where use of the front cam is needed. A loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm jack with active noise cancellation and dedicated microphone is also expected to be provided with the phone.
Right now there is no indication as to what kind of battery should we expect in the upcoming phone. However, it is rumored that the battery will be non-removable Li-Ion and it will support quick charging. The battery is not expected to support wireless charging. Be whatever the case, one can easily expect the phone to run for a day with moderate to heavy usage. Talking about connectivity options, the phone is expected to come with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/nac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE, Qualcomm® aptX™ HD audio, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFC, Infrared port and USB version 3.1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and USB On-The-Go.
