LG has recently launched its LG K7 smartphone in the market, and it’s already created a lot of buzz in the market. Not only the smartphone comes with an affordable price tag but also hosts a range of flagship like features, such as support for 4G VoLTE. With the launch of this smartphone, it can be said that LG is getting serious about the budget segment of the smartphone market. So, let’s see what this smartphone has to offer to its users.
Talking about the external dimensions of the phone, it has physical dimensions as 5.65 x 2.85 x 0.36 inches, which makes it an excellent sized phone. The phone weighs 161 gm, which is not that heavy for a smartphone. Regarding the colour variants of the phone, it comes in four colour options i.e. White, Black, Gold; Titan (for LTE variant). Overall, the phone has an aesthetic appeal rather and looks decent with its signature pebble design. Talking about the display of this phone, the LG K7 features a 5.0 inches IPS LCD that provides a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels that roughly translates to merely 196 pixels-per-inch pixel density. Due to the low pixel density, the images and text appear rather jagged. However, the sunlight legibility and viewing angles are fantastic.
The phone is powered by a Quad-core 1.1 GHz Cortex-A7 processor which has a Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 chipset. The quad-core processor appears to work decently but somehow seems to lag in general performance. The smartphone offers 8GB of internal memory, which could be expanded up to 32GB using the microSD card slot provided in the phone. The phone runs on Android OS, version 5.0.1 (Lollipop). To make the interface user-friendly, the smartphone is backed by a 1.5GB RAM. However, it is way less than what other smartphone offers at the same price tag. The phone offers dual-SIM functionality and supports 4G/LTE networks.
The phone features a 5 MP primary camera that is supported by a LED flashlight, and the front shooter is provided with a 5 MP camera. The images captured by the phone workable, however, the low light photography suffers, as a lot of noise appears to creep in images captured in low light. Talking about multimedia, the phone features a stereo loudspeaker, 3.5mm audio jack. The phone also features MP4/XviD /H.265 player, MP3/WAV/eAAC+/Flac player, Photo/video editor and a Document viewer.
The battery provided in the smartphone works averagely. Having topped with a 2125 mAh Li-Ion removable battery, this phone can work for an entire day with light to moderate usage. The phone does not support fast charging. The smartphone support connectivity functions, such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.1 with A2DP, A-GPS, FM Radio and microUSB version 2.0.
