LG launched its ‘Q’ series smartphones recently, one of them being LG Q6A. When everybody was expecting the launch of LG Q6, the company surprised with the announcement of the launch of three new sequential smartphones - Q6, Q6A+, and Q6A. In that case, we can say that these sequential series are the successors of LG Q5.
LG is planning to launch all the three smartphones including Q6A probably by the end of 2017. The device is of lesser price when compared to other two sequential. LG has quoted that this smartphone is sought to offer premium features at a competitive price. It is targeting the Android market. Like its previous flagship. LG G6, this device flaunts full vision display from the company. The phone is expected to be launched in three pretty colors – Astro Black, Terra Gold, and Ice Platinum.
The latest smartphone from LG, Q6A seems to host a strong metal build on the rear side. The phone’s dimensions are of 8.1mm in thickness, 69.3 in width and 142.5mm in height and it weighs only 149 grams which make it easy to hold in hand. Overall, the weight, colors and the metal panel would give a premium look to the phone. The power button is on the left side of the phone, and the volume controller is on the right side.
The rear side of the phone is completely plain with only camera and flash on the top corner. The front shooter is again on the top next to the speaker. The display is 5.5” FullVision with a resolution of 1080*2160 pixels. The screen covers most of the height as the screen to body ratio is 84.25%. It is the capacitive touch screen, but there is no confirmation about the screen protection.
LG upcoming smartphone, Q6A is expected to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat along with octa-core processor which is clocked at 1.4 GHz, Cortex A53 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 MSM8940 as a chipset. It might host Adreno 505 graphics. This configuration is sure to give a lag-free performance to the user. The RAM is also 2GB to enable smooth performance of the device.
When talking about the internal storage, Q6A has internal memory of 16GB which is expandable upto 2TB using MicroSD card. This huge memory space will be a treat to the user. It can act as a mini computer to store everything that you require handy.
LG Q6A hosts dual SIM that is enabled with 4G connectivity, and one of the slots also support VoLTE.
When considering the cameras, all the three models including Q6A hosts 13MP rear camera and 5MP Selfie camera. The rear camera is backed with an LED flash to enable photo shoot even in dull lighting conditions. Though not many details of the camera features have been revealed, the camera seems to host general features like touch focus, digital zoom, auto flash, face detection, etc. It can produce pictures of 4128 x 3096 pixels resolution.
The front camera does not have flash and is of 5MP. There is not much clarity on the features again as well as its performance. LG has always offered high-end camera quality, and similar has been expected from Q6A too.
The phone supports 3.5mm audio jack and has an inbuilt loudspeaker with support for multiple audio formats such as WAV, MP3, AAC etc. The phone also supports various video formats such as flv, mp4, avi, wmv etc.
LG Q6A is backed with 3000mAh battery Li-Ion non-removable battery. This will give a full day backup to the user even at moderate usage.
The device comes with dual SIM, and both the slots support 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity options whereas one among them is expected to support VoLTE. The first SIM will support 2G Bands of type GSM 1800 / 1900 / 850 / 900 MHz, 3G Bands of UMTS 1900 / 2100 / 850 / 900 MHz and 4G Bands of type TD-LTE 2300(band 40) FD-LTE 1800(band 3). EDGE is also available in this slot. Whereas the other SIM will support 2G Bands of type GSM 1800 / 1900 / 850 / 900 MHz.
The other connectivity options that the phone might have are Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, Hotspot, NFC, micro USB 2.0, GPRS, etc.
While talking about the sensors, the phone comes embedded with Light sensor, Proximity sensor and Accelerometer sensors.
