EXPERT REVIEWS

INTRODUCTION

LG has successfully positioned itself in the market as one of the most reliable and innovative smartphone manufacturers. They are well known for creating one of a kind flagship smartphones that tend to change the market dynamics when released in the smartphone market. Recently, they have begun focusing on the budget segment of smartphones and things are getting interesting. The LG Stylo 3 is expected to be launched soon in the coming months. The phone will offer unique features to its users.

DESIGN AND DISPLAY

Talking about the design of the phone one can easily conclude that the phone will have the signature LG design. The phone will have an aesthetic look and would be appealing to its users. The phone is expected to have smooth front and back panels. The external dimensions of the phone are rumored to be 155.6 x 79.8 x 7.4mm and the phone is expected to weigh around 149 grams. It is believed that the phone would be launched in two color variants i.e. Metallic Titan and Pink Gold. The display is expected to come with 5.7-inches HD In-cell Touch capacitive touchscreen that would provide a screen resolution of 720X 1080 pixels. A 258 ppi rich screen will be crisp and bright enough to provide a decent viewing experience. We also expect the sunlight legibility of the phone to be decent too. LG has been able to provide some decent display in its smartphones and we expect nothing less.

PERFORMANCE AND CONFIGURATION

According to the released specs on company’s website, the phone would come with a 1.5 GHz Octa-core processor that would be backed by a MediaTek MT6750 chipset. With the mentioned specifications, one can expect the phone to provide a decent Android performance free from lag or stutter. The Mali GPU expected in the phone would make sure that games would be played easily on the smartphone. The phone is expected to come with 2GB of RAM, which according to us is enough for basic daily usage. The phone is expected to run on Android platform that too on Android version 7.0 i.e. Nougat. The internal storage of the phone is expected to be 16GB which could be expanded up to 64GB using the microSD card slot provided in the phone. The phone will offer dual SIM compatibility and would support 4G networks. The phone will come with a stylus, using which one would be able to increase the utility of the phone. The stylus would be accessible from the phone itself.

CAMERA AND MULTIMEDIA

The phone is expected to have a 13MP Primary camera backed by autofocus & LED flashlight. The primary camera would support Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch-to-focus. The shooting modes would include Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). HD video recording could be done by the camera. The front camera would sport an 8-MP camera, which again is not bad for a front camera. LG smartphones generally perform well in the camera segment and we hope that this smartphone would capture amazing pics too. The 13MP primary camera will be able to capture some pretty detailed images, while, the 8MP front shooter will be capable of capturing beautiful selfies too. The phone will also come with a loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

BATTERY AND CONNECTIVITY

According to released specs online the phone will be powered by a 3200mAh battery. The best part about the battery is that it would be removable. We hope that in the real life conditions, the battery would be able to work for a day with moderate to heavy usage. Right now, there is no information if the battery would support fast charging or wireless charging. The phone will offer connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, mobile hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, A-GPS and microUSB 2.0. The other sensors that might come with the smartphone are Fingerprint scanner, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
