LG has been able to produce few cutting-edge smartphones that have also turned out to be best sellers too. LG strives to maintain a distinct image of its smartphones in the market and tries to bring innovation in its products. Recently, LG announced that it would launch a brand new smartphone “LG U” in the markets. So what makes the LG U special, according to the online reports the phone would be the thinnest LG phone ever launched. It is also believed that the phone would be the lightest Phablet in the market with Octa-Core Processor. The phone is expected to be a mid-ranged smartphone and would be best for users searching for a decent mid-priced smartphone with a promising brand value. Talking about the design of the phone one can quickly come to the conclusion that the phone has taken design cues from LG Nexus 5X. The phone looks aesthetic but then again doesn’t offer something unique to its users. According to the online reports, the phone would feature a 1.14-GHz Octa-core Cortex A53 processor that would be backed by a MediaTek MT6753 chipset. With the current specifications, one can expect the phone to work seamlessly without any lag or stutter of any kind. The Mali-T720MP3 GPU would make sure that heavy games would be played on the smartphone with ease. The phone shall come with 2-GB of RAM, which according to us could have been better, as many mid-range smartphones are accompanied with 3GB of RAM. The phone is expected to run on Android platform that too on Android version 6.0 i.e. Marshmallow. The internal storage of the phone is expected to be 32 GB which could be expanded up to 2-TB using the microSD card slot provided in the phone. The phone offers single SIM support and supports 4G networks.
The phone is expected to feature a 13-MP Primary camera which would be backed by autofocus and LED flashlight. The primary camera would also support Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. The shooting modes would include Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). HD video recording could be done by the camera at frames like 1920x1080 @ 30 fps. The front camera would sport an 8-MP camera, which is an excellent specification. LG smartphones have one of the best cameras, and we believe that the images captured by this phone’s camera would turn out to be impressive too. The front shooter will surely capture beautiful selfies. The phone shall feature a loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

The battery capacity seems to be consistent with the batteries provided in its price segment. We hope that the battery would work for a day with moderate to heavy usage. There is no information right now if the battery would support fast charging or wireless charging. The phone shall feature a range of connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, mobile hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.1, A-GPS and microUSB 2.0. The phone shall not feature a fingerprint scanner which could be a deal-breaker for many users. The other sensors that come with the smartphone are a Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass and Gyroscope.
