LG has been launching budget segment smartphone for quite some time now. The best part about them is the fact that they perform better than other budget segment smartphones. LG’s brand integration has been pretty impressive in the global markets and users all over the world trust LG’s products. Recently there has been rumors regarding the upcoming budget segment smartphone from the house of LG. The phone is rumored to be LG X230. So, let’s see how this phone might turn out to be in real life.
There are not many images available online for the LG X230. However, many reports online suggest that the phone shall have a decent design just like many other budget segment smartphones. The phone is believed to have no physical buttons and shall have smooth front and back panel. Currently, there is no information regarding the dimensions or the weight of the phone. The phone shall not be waterproof or dustproof, of which we can’t complain as the phone is expected to be a budget segment smartphone. It is believed that the phone would boast a 5.0 – inches IPS LCD Capacitive touchscreen that would provide screen resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels and roughly correspond to 294ppi rich screen. With the rumored specs, one can expect the phone to have a pretty decent display for a budget segment smartphone. The HD display is expected to get bright enough and would provide a decent sunlight legibility. The viewing angles are also expected to be decent for this phone. Overall, the phone has the potential to provide a decent viewing experience.
According to the leaked configuration online, it is believed that the smartphone would feature a Quad-core 1.5 GHz processor which would be backed by a MediaTek MT6737V chipset. With the 1.5 GHz processor provided in the phone, one can expect a pretty decent performance from the phone. The processor would be able to play light games and videos easily, however, one cannot expect the phone to play heavy games and heavily encoded videos, as then the users might observe severe lags or stutter from the phone. The phone is expected to run on Android ecosystem, version 6.0.1 i.e. Marshmallow. The processor is expected to be backed by a 1GB RAM, which again is a common trend observed in low budget smartphones. The best part about the phone is that it is expected to support 4G that too for Indian bands. It is also believed that the phone will offer dual-SIM functionality too.
Talking about the kinds of cameras that could be provided in the phone. The main camera is expected to feature an 8-MP camera that would be backed by autofocus and LED flashlight. Also, a 5-MP front camera might be provided in the phone, which again is not that bad for a budget segment smartphone. The primary camera is expected to have features like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus and would have various shooting modes such as Continuous Shooting, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). The camera setting would also include Exposure compensation and ISO control. HD video recording would also be done by the camera at frames like 1280x720 @ 30 fps. The rumored specs might turn out to be completely different in real life, however, if the specs turn out to be the exactly same then might be able to capture decent images from the camera. The phone shall also feature a loudspeaker which we hope would get loud enough. The phone shall also come with a 3.5 mm audio jack.
It is believed that a 3000 mAh battery shall be provided in the smartphone. With the rumored specs one can easily expect the phone to work for a complete day with heavy usage. Talking about the connectivity options, the phone would boast basic connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, mobile hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.0 with A2DP, A-GPS and microUSB 2.0. The phone is expected to come with two processors i.e. Accelerometer and proximity, which again is standard in budget segment smartphone.
