The Meizu Pro 5 Mini Smartphone was announced in June 2015. Its design is pretty much similar to the company’s previously launched device Meizu Pro 5. The company Meizu was founded in March 2003 and it entered into the electronics and telecommunications industry since then. Initially, they used to manufacture MP3 players, and then moved on to manufacturing MP4 players. In 2008 the company started making mobile phones. Since then, within a very short span of time the company has established itself as one of the leading smartphone manufacturing companies. The company is currently registered with a good number of countries worldwide. Meizu has developed its own aftermarket firmware for its smartphone devices which is based on the Android operating system. The Meizu Pro 5 Mini targets the Android smartphone user base. The company is famous for its design and creativity. It believes in maintaining a healthy relationship with the customers.
The design of the Meizu Pro 5 Mini is very much identical to the Meizu Pro 5, except it’s the smaller version. The device sports a full HD(1080p) 4.7 inch OLED Capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at a pixel density of 469 pixels per inch. The phone sports a full metal body. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Unlike the Meizu Pro 5’s 5.7 inches massive screen the Mini sports 4.7-inch screen. The dimension of this phone is 132 mm x 65.0 mm x 7.2 mm. The touchscreen supports multitouch function. The manufacturer has kept the design of the phone simple yet trendy, which simply catches the eyes of an onlooker.
The Meizu Pro 5 Mini would be included with a 64-bit 2.5GHz Mediatek Helio X20 MT6797 processor with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU instead of the Pro 5’s octa-core processor of Exynos 7420 of Samsung (Cortex-A57 quad-core 2.1GHz and Cortex-A53 quad-core 1.5GHz) together with GPU of Mali T760 MP8. The phone will feature 3 GB of RAM, enough to support high powered gaming and Android applications without any lags. The smartphone comes with 32 GB of internal storage which can be extended up to 128 GB by the microSD card. The device runs Android v5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box, which can be later upgraded to Android v6 Marshmallow. The phone can smoothly run multiple applications and is perfect for multitasking. The additional sensor features like fingerprint sensor, proximity, accelerometer, ambient light sensor and gyrometer make it a perfect phone for the current generation Android users.
The phone is equipped with a 16 MP primary camera with Auto Focus, Face Recognition, Geo-tagging and full HD video recording at 30fps. It also includes a dual tone LED flash, making it perfect for wannabe photographers. The secondary camera is 5 MP with a focal length of f/2.0. Like the Primary camera, the secondary camera can also shoot full HD videos and is perfect for clicking selfies. Video calling feature is available using the secondary camera. As far as the media is concerned, the alert types are vibration, MP3 and Wav ringtones. The smartphone supports loudspeaker and MP4 playback along with FM radio. This phone also comes with an audio jack of 3.5 mm.
The device comes with a non-removable Li-Ion 3050 mAh battery providing enough backup and standby time to the system. Like its predecessors, the Pro Mini would also be a dual SIM smartphone. This smartphone supports EDGE, GPRS, HSPA as well as the latest 4G LTE network. The connectivity and messaging features of the phone include Email, MMS, Video call and SMS with the threaded view option. The phone supports WIFI, Bluetooth, GPS connectivity, EDGE, tethering and OTA sync. It supports all types of SIMs and data connectivity which are available on the phone. Pro 5 Mini supports GSM/HSPA/LTE and the Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, hotspot and Wi-Fi Direct. For better connectivity, the phone comes with the micro-USB port of v2.0.
