It is believed that the company is all set to compete with Xiaomi, which has already started manufacturing edgeless smartphones. According to many reports online, it’s believed that the Meizu Pro 7 could feature a borderless design. Similar types of design have already been spotted on Weibo, a Chinese networking website. According to the online rumours and the leaked images, it appears that the Meizu Pro 7 might come with a super high screen-to-body ratio. It is believed that the screen-to-body ratio seems to be close to 100 percent. If we consider the fact that the phone might feature with the much touted pop-up front camera, then the near 100% screen-to-body ratio makes sense. If the design truly turns out to be edgeless, then no doubt that the phone would have strikingly beautiful exteriors. About the display provided in the phone, it is believed that the phone shall feature a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display that would provide a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixel.
If the current rumoured specs turn out to be true, then the display easily qualifies as one of the best part of the phone. The full HD screen shall easily capture everyone's attention. With such high specifications, there would be no problem related to viewing angles and sunlight legibility of the phone. Overall this phone might scores full in terms of design and display.
There has been a lot of speculations regarding the hardware specifications of the phone. However, according to the latest online reports, the Meizu Pro 7 is supposedly powered by an Helio X25 processor that would be backed by a Kirin 960 chipset. With the use of Kirin chipset, it appears that Meizu has ended the partnership with Samsung to get their Exynos chipset. It is believed that instead of using Samsung’s chipset, the Meizu Pro 7 shall run on Huawei's SoC that brings the latest Mali-G71 Vulkan-enabled GPU and the Cortex-A73 CPU cores. The processor would be backed by a 6GB RAM, and the internal storage would be 64GB/128GB. The processor would be able to provide a seamless experience, and there would be lag or stutter observed while navigating through the phone. A Mali GPU shall be provided in the phone, which will ensure that games and videos would be played without any hiccups or interruptions. The phone shall run on Android-based Operating System with Flyme UI. The phone might support dual SIM functionality but would definitely support 4G bands.
The phone is expected to feature a 12MP primary camera that would be backed by a Dual-color LED flashlight and would feature a Sony IMX 386 sensor. The additional features of the camera would include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR. The secondary camera would feature an 8MP pop-up camera. The video recording is expected to be done at frames like 1920x1080@ 30 fps. With the current specifications, the camera would be able to capture few interesting pics. About innovation, it is rumoured that the phone shall be fitted with an ultrasonic biometric fingerprint scanner. The ultrasonic biometric fingerprint scanner allows the user to place their finger anywhere on display to unlock their device. The connectivity options would include, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.1, A-GPS and microUSB v2.0. The sensors that are expected to come with the phone include Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass and Gyroscope.
