Meizu has made remarkable progress in the smartphone markets, their phones have been able to capture a decent market share. Meizu seems to be focussed now on producing budget segment smartphones, as they appear to have access to a huge market. Meizu has recently announced that they would be launching two new smartphones that would feature in its U series of smartphones. The two smartphones are the U10 and U20 smartphones. It is also announced by the company that the smartphones will come in four colour variants i.e. Black, White, Champagne Gold, and Rose Gold. So, let’s see how the Meizu U10 might turn out in real life.
One thing that remains constant in Meizu smartphones is their impeccable build quality, and according to the leaked images online, the Meizu U10 looks stunning. The phone seems to have taken inspiration from iPhone 5 and has a classy appeal. It is believed that the phone would have a metal body and a rectangular design. The phone would feature with an mTouch 2.1 home button upon which a fingerprint scanner shall be embedded. Talking about the display provided in the phone, the phone shall feature with a 5-inches full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that would provide a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The display would house approximately 401ppi pixel density that we can easily say as best in class. The display easily qualifies as one of the best parts of the phone, as we are sure that the HD screen will quickly capture everyone's attention. There would be no problem related to colour reproduction, and sunlight legibility is expected to be impressive. Overall this phone scores well in design and display.
The phone is expected to feature with a 1.5 GHz, Octa core, Cortex A53 processor that would be backed by a MediaTek MT6750 chipset. The processor would be able to provide a seamless experience, and there would no be lag or stutter observed while navigating through the phone. A Mali-T860 MP2 GPU shall be provided in the phone, which will ensure that games and videos would be played without any hiccups or interruptions. The phone shall run on Android-based Yun Operating System with Flyme UI. Overall, the performance of the phone is expected to be great. If we believe on the online reports, the phone is expected to come with internal storage of 16GB, which could be expanded by its users up to 128GB using the hybrid card slot provided in the phone. A 2GB RAM is also expected to come with the phone, which in this price segment is great. The phone would support dual SIM functionality and also definitely support 4G bands.
The phone is expected to feature a 13MP primary camera that would be backed by a Dual-color LED flashlight, but would not be supported by Optical Image Stabilisation. The additional features of the camera would include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR. The secondary camera would also feature a 5MP, which in the phone’s price segment is fantastic. The video recording is expected to be done at frames like 1920x1080@ 30 fps. With the current specifications, the camera would be able to capture few interesting pics. The front camera would also be capable of capturing some decent selfies. A loudspeaker would also be provided in the phone and so would be a 3.5mm audio jack that would come with active noise cancellation with dedicated mic.
The phone is expected to come with a 2760 Li-Po non-removable battery which according to us is decent in its price segment. However, according to the online rumours, the battery would not support Quick charging. We hope the battery would provide enough juice to run for a complete day with heavy usage. The connectivity options would include, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.1, A-GPS and microUSB v2.0. The sensors that are expected to come with the phone include a Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass and Gyroscope.
