There have been a significant number of players in the smartphone market. Meizu is one such player who has seen a rapid rise recently. Their smartphones are critically acclaimed as beautiful and with a high build quality. Recently, there has been a lot of rumours regarding the new “Meizu X” smartphone that is expected to be launched in the upcoming months. So, let’s see how this Meizu X shall turn out to be in real life and if it would survive the intense competition.
There has been a lot of rumours regarding the design of the phone. However, if we go according to the leaked images online, we can easily say that the phone has a premium appearance. It appears that the design of the phone has taken inspiration from Apple’s iPhones. It is believed that the phone would feature a physical home button upon which a fingerprint scanner shall be embedded. Talking about the display provided in the phone, the phone shall feature with a 5.5-inches full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that would provide a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The display would house approximately 401-ppi pixel density that would easily qualify as the best in class. The display is also expected to have a Corning Gorilla Glass protection, thus making the screen resistant to scratches. There would be no problem related to colour reproduction, and sunlight legibility is expected to be impressive.
The fascination of Meizu for using MediaTek chipset in its smartphones seems to be persistent in this smartphone too. The phone is expected to feature a Deca-Core (2.3 GHz, Dual Core, Cortex A72 + 1.8 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53 + 1.4 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53) processor that would be backed by a MediaTek MT6797 chipset. The processor would be able to provide a seamless Android experience, and there would be lag or stutter observed while navigating through the phone. A Mali-T880 MP4 GPU shall be provided in the phone, which will ensure that games and videos would be played without any hiccups or interruptions. However, one might observe lag of stutter when playing heavy games or multiple apps side-by-side on the phone. The MediaTek chipset sometimes has performance related issues. However, we hope this phone shall not have any problems. The phone shall run on Android-based Operating System with Meizu’s FlymeUI. Overall, the performance of the phone is expected to be great. If we believe on the online reports, the phone is expected to come with internal storage of 32GB, which could be expanded by its users up to 128GB. A 3GB RAM is also expected to come with the phone, which is amazing for this price segment. The phone would support dual SIM functionality and also definitely support 4G bands.
The phone is expected to feature a 13MP primary camera that would be backed by a Dual-color LED flashlight, but would not be supported by Optical Image Stabilization. The additional features of the camera would include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR. The secondary camera would also feature a 5MP, which in the phone’s price segment is fantastic. The video recording is expected to be done at frames like 1920x1080@ 30 fps. The camera specifications of this phone appear to be the same as many previous Meizu phones. With the current specifications, the camera is capable of clicking some decent pics full of details. The front camera also seems capable of capturing some shareworthy selfies. A loudspeaker would also be provided in the phone and so would be a 3.5mm audio jack with active noise cancellation with dedicated mic.
The phone is expected to come with a 3000 mAh LI-Po non-removable battery which according to us is great in its price segment. Also, according to the online rumours, the battery would support quick charging too. We hope the battery would provide enough juice to run for a complete day with heavy usage. The connectivity options would include, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.1, A-GPS and USB Type-C connector. The sensors that are expected to come with the phone include the Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope.
