Micromax has been able to produce some pretty interesting budget smartphones, and they seem to continue with the trend. Not only have they marketed their smartphones as affordable but also that their smartphones are made in India. Adding to their long list of budget smartphones, Micromax is planning to add another smartphone i.e. Micromax Canvas Fire 6. It seems that Micromax has been able to attract a loyal customer base, as with the launch of every smartphone they can find a particular set of users demanding that. So without waiting let’s see how this smartphone may turn out to be.
Looking at the leaked images online, the phone boasts a decent design and has an aesthetic appeal. The phone seems to be having one physical home button and boasts a sporty look. The external dimensions of the phone are expected to be 5.71 x 2.87 x 0.33 inches and so would let its user use it by a single hand. The phone is expected to weigh 155 grammes which make it not too heavy. Regarding the colour variants of the phone, it is rumoured that the phone would be available in just one colour variant i.e. black. However, this is yet to be confirmed. It is believed that the phone would boast a 5.0 – inches IPS LCD Capacitive touchscreen that would provide screen resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels and roughly corresponding to 294ppi rich screen. With the current specs, one can easily expect that the display of the screen would look fantastic for a budget segment smartphone. At the low budget price tag, we can easily say that the display would be one of the best features of the smartphone.
According to the leaked configuration, it is believed that the smartphone would feature a Quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor which would be backed by a MediaTek MT6735P chipset. With a 1.0 Ghz processor, the phone’s performance is expected to be decent. The processor would be able to play light games easily with the use of its Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. However, one cannot expect the phone to play heavy games and heavily encoded videos, as that is not expected in a low budget smartphone. The phone is expected to run on Android ecosystem, version 5.1 i.e. Lollipop. The processor is expected to be backed by a 1GB RAM, which according to us is the set standard for a low budget smartphone. The best part about the phone is that it is expected to support 4G that too for Indian bands. It is also believed that the phone will offer dual-SIM functionality too.
The camera has not been a strong suit for Micromax smartphones, and this time again we expect some change in the camera quality. The main camera is expected to feature an 8-MP camera that would be backed by autofocus and LED flashlight. Also, a 2-MP front camera has been provided in the phone, which again is not that bad for a budget segment smartphone. The primary camera is expected to have features like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus and would have various shooting modes such as Continuous Shooting, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). The camera setting would also include Exposure compensation and ISO control. HD video recording would also be done by the camera at frames like 1280x720 @ 30 fps. At the present specification, one can expect to catch decent images. However, we cannot comment on that unless we have the smartphone to test it for ourselves. The phone shall feature a speaker which again we hope would be loud enough, as the previous Micromax smartphone. The phone shall also back a 3.5 mm audio jack.
It is believed that a 3050 mAh Li-Polymer battery is provided in the smartphone. According to the online reports, the battery is expected to provide a talk time up to 27 Hours and standby time up to 550 Hours on 2G networks, which again is not bad. Talking about the connectivity options, the camera would boost basic connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, mobile hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.0 with A2DP, A-GPS, FM Radio and microUSB 2.0. The phone is expected to come with two processors i.e. Accelerometer and proximity, which again is standard in budget segment smartphone.
