HMD Global has officially launched the all new Nokia 7 Plus at Mobile World Congress 2018(MWC) in Barcelona on February 26th. The company also unveiled other Nokia devices at its launch event including Nokia 1, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 8810 4G slider feature phone. The phone itself is an enhanced and upgraded version which offers advanced camera technology, better design, and fine display, compared to its predecessor model. There were rumours about the design of the phone before it was officially announced.
The much-awaited Nokia 7 Plus features a screen size of 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, FHD+ resolution. The screen is vibrant and gives a good amount of brightness in the low light conditions as well. The design is so attractive and is an incredibly sleek, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and made with a high-end aluminum unibody Series 6000 that lets the user to hold it easily with a steady weight of about 155 grams. The resolution of the display consists of 1080 x 2160 pixels with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and the screen density is 403 PPI.
On the front side, the phone is covered with FullView display and a front camera is there on the above. The phone has a USB Type-C port at the bottom for charging and data transfer, while volume and power button is placed on the right side and a 3.5mm headphone jack is also provided at the top.
On the software section, the smartphone runs on the latest Android v8.1 Oreo out of the box and also runs under a Google Android One project. Nokia commits to give timely software and security updates for up to two years which ensures the phone is up to date. The device is powered by an octa-core processor with CPU speed of 2.2 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53 + 1.8 GHz, and Quad core, Cortex A53.
The smartphone has a chipset of Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 for everyday multitasking activities. It has 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64-bit architecture, along with Adreno 508 graphics.
The internal memory is packed with 64 GB which is again expandable up to 256 GB and also provides USB OTG support.
The main camera of the device has a resolution of 12 MP + 13 MP dual primary cameras with an f/1.75 and f/2.6 aperture lens respectively and made by Carl Zeiss and image resolution of 4000 x 3000 Pixels. It also added new Dual pixel phase detection and a LED flash while featuring settings like exposure compensation, as well as ISO control. The rear cameras also have two different shooting modes which are continuous shooting, high dynamic range mode or what is commonly known as HDR and moreover, the camera also features digital zoom, auto flash, face detection, and the touch to focus facility. The front camera of the device features a resolution of 16MP with an f/2.0 aperture lens and have the option for LED flash. Other multimedia features that are much-awaited to include in-built loudspeakers, a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones or any other audio cables, fingerprint sensor as well as few other different sensors like light sensor, proximity sensor, an accelerometer, a compass, also a gyroscope.
The battery of the phone comes with a non-removable Li-ion 3800 mAh battery with USB type- C port with USB 2.0 technology. It has a dual-SIM support, the SIM 1 will fit in a Nano SIM while SIM 2 will fit in a Nano-hybrid SIM. The smartphone supports VOLTE and 4G, 3G and 2G as well, but only of bands GSM 1800 / 1900 / 850 / 900 MHz. Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n is available along with mobile hotspot and Bluetooth v5.0.
