When Nokia sold its smartphone division to Microsoft, people thought that it was the end of Nokia smartphones. Who knew that the company would make a huge comeback by venturing again into the smartphone business. The best part about the Nokia phones this time would be the fact that they would run on Android OS. Many people complained about the previous Nokia smartphones that featured with only Windows OS. People are already excited about the fact that Nokia is resuming its smartphones business again and why they wouldn’t. Once again, we can expect high-quality smartphones from Nokia that would carry the legacy of the company forward. There has been a lot of rumours regarding the upcoming “Nokia A1” smartphone, so let’s see how this phone might turn out to be in real life.
There are tonnes of leaked images online for the Nokia A1, and all of them confirm one thing that the Nokia A1 would be a beautiful looking phone. The phone is expected to have three soft-touch capacitive buttons that are supposedly backlit. The phone has reasonable dimensions, as is believed to have average weight. It is believed that the smartphone might feature in two colour variants i.e. black and white. According to the leaked images online, the phone seems to have a plastic body. Overall, the phone has a premium look and will surely appeal to a broad range of audience. The phone is expected to feature a 5.5-inches capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours that would provide a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The display is expected to have approximately a 401-ppi pixel density, which is more than enough to provide an impressive display. With the current specs, the display is all set to attract everyone’s attention.
The phone is expected to come with a 1.8 GHz, Octa Core, (Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 & quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53) processor that would be backed by a Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 chipset. With the available information on hardware specifications, one can easily expect a power packed performance from the phone. It is also rumoured that the phone would feature an Adreno 510 GPU that would make sure that heavy games and videos are played without any problems. The phone shall run on Android platform (which is amazing and highly appreciated), and we believe that the phone would be running on Android OS, version 6.0.1 i.e. Marshmallow. According to the online reports, the phone is expected to come with internal storage of 32GB, which could be expanded by its users using the microSD card slot provided in the phone. A 2GB RAM is also expected to come with the phone, which according to us could have been better, however, we can’t comment much at the present moment. The phone shall allow only single SIM support and would support 3G networks.
The phone is expected to feature a 13MP primary camera that would be backed by autofocus and LED flashlight. The additional features of the camera would include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR. The secondary camera would feature a 5MP camera. If we talk about the general trend observed in previous Nokia smartphones, almost all of them snapped amazing pics, so we expect that the camera provided in this phone would work equally well. The video recording is expected to be done at frames like 1080p@30fps. A loudspeaker would also be provided in the phone and so is a 3.5mm audio jack that would come with active noise cancellation with dedicated mic.
The phone is expected to come with a Li-Ion battery, but we do not have any information regarding the specification of the battery. It is also believed that the battery would be non-removable. We hope the battery would provide enough juice to run for a complete day with heavy usage. The connectivity options would include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Hotspot, Bluetooth Version 4.1, A2DP, A-GPS, GLONASS, FM radio and microUSB v2.0. The sensors that are expected to come with the phone include accelerometer and compass.
