Nokia used to rule the world of mobile phones. They were once the undisputed rulers of the mobile world, but ever since the era of smartphones has dawned, they were unable to keep up with the technology and eventually, they succumbed. However, Microsoft came to their rescue and bought Nokia, but then again, they were also unable to the get the warm response from people which their Windows devices deserve. It was quite clear that it won’t be possible for them to get people’s attention as long as they don’t launch an Android device.
In 2017, Nokia will be free to use their name and release their own devices, and the Nokia C1, which has been running around in rumours since 3 years, will be Nokia’s first Android device in their new innings. Nokia C1 is not going to be some flagship smartphone, but it will be a mid-high range level device with 5.5-inch screen size. We have some information about its specs, let us have a look at them –
As the phone hasn’t even been announced yet, we have not seen any pictures of it. The production hasn’t started, so there’s no way of having any leaked image. What we can predict is that the design will feature a metal unibody, with round edges. The camera, as we have heard, on the back will be of 13 megapixels. A LED flash will accompany it. The back panel will not be a removable one. At the front, there will be no physical key. Above the display, there will be the 5-megapixel front camera.
Alongside the front cam, there will be the earpiece and sensors. The right-hand side will feature the volume rocker on top and the power key at the centre. There might be a camera button at the bottom on the right-hand side. The left will feature the micro SIM slot, and if there is going to be microSD card slot, then it will be beside or with the SIM card slot. The micro USB v2.0 will be placed at the bottom, where we might see dual speakers on its either sides. The 3.5 mm audio jack will be placed on the top.
There is no news about the fingerprint sensor, and it is very unlikely that it will be present in this device. The display will be of 5.5 inches. It will be an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with the depth of 16 million colours. The screen will carry a resolution of Full HD 1080 x 1920 pixels, with a pixel density of 401 ppi pixel. So the images and graphics will appear very clear and sharp on this screen.
The Nokia C1 will run on Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 chipset, which will have an octa-core processor (4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 & 4x1.4 GHz Cortex-A53). It will be backed by 2 GB of RAM. The benchmark results will come out once the phone is announced and released. But as far as the configuration is concerned, it looks wonderful for a mid-range phone. This device will sport Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The phone will have 32 GB of internal storage.
We know few about the cameras of Nokia C1. As far as the rumours are concerned, it will have a 13-megapixel rear camera, with LED flash, and at the front, we will have a 5-megapixel camera. Both the cameras will be capable of recording videos at 1080p.
The battery will be probably of 2800 mAh capacity. It will be a single SIM phone, and remaining connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Hotspot; Bluetooth v4.2, A2DP; GPS, with A-GPS, GLONASS and microUSB 2.0 for data transfer and charging.
