Nokia is working really had to get back in the mobile world and they seem to be doing things much better than before. They have already taken orders for their first smartphone in China this year. Recently, there were rumors regarding an upcoming flagship device from the Finnish tech giant. Many reports suggest that the phone will be a high end phone and would feature with a state of art technology, like the edge-to-edge display. Although there is no official information regarding the phone yet, our speculations suggest that the phone will be launched around the 2nd quarter of 2017.
According to the leaked images online, the phone seems to have an edge display, as the touchscreen seems to be present on the sides of the phone too. The phone seems to be having a secondary display provided on the top side of the phone. Many reports suggest the phone would be button-less, thus providing an amazing feel to the phone. The fingerprint scanner seems to be provided on the rear side of the phone, just under the camera module. Overall, the phone seems to look very stylish and would easily catch its user’s attention. If we talk about the rumored display of the phone, it is also believed that the phone shall feature with a 5.5 inches FHD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that would provide a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It is also rumored that the display provided in the phone will be protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The 414 ppi rich display should be enough to capture everyone’s attention, as the screen would provide a fantastic viewing experience. With the rumored specs, the phone will be able to provide fantastic sunlight legibility and great viewing angles too. According to the online rumors, the phone is expected to feature an Octa-core processor mounted upon a high end Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. We can expect the processor to be able to provide some very strong performance figures. It is also rumored that a high end Adreno GPU would also be provided in the phone. The GPU will ensure that heavy games and videos will run on the phone without any problem. The phone is expected to run on Android platform and it is believed that the phone will be installed with Android v7.0 i.e. Nougat. The Nokia Edge is expected to come with internal storage of 32GB/64GB and the internal storage is expected to be further expanded by up to 32GB by using a microSD card. It is also believed that the phone would come with 3GB of RAM, which according to us would be more than sufficient to run all kinds of apps. The phone will support dual SIM and would definitely support 4G/LTE networks.
Nokia is back to providing amazing cameras in its phone, as the phone is rumored to feature a 23-MP rear camera featuring a Carl Zeiss lens backed by phase detection autofocus(PDAF) and dual-LED (dual tone) flashlight. The Carl Zeiss lens would give the phone capability to capture DSLR type pics from the phone itself. The camera features would include Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. Shooting modes should include Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). HD video recording would be done by the camera at frames like 1080p@30fps. The phone is also rumored to feature an 8MP Front Camera. If the rumored specs turn out to be the same in real life, then one can expect to capture amazing images from the camera. Also, one would be able to shoot impressive selfies with the front camera too. A loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm jack with active noise cancellation and dedicated mic is also expected to be provided with the phone.
It is believed that the phone shall feature a 3600 mAh non-removable battery. It is rumored that the battery might support quick charging. Talking about connectivity options, the phone is expected to feature all communications like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/nac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth, LE, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC and a USB Type-C reversible connector. The other sensors that are expected in the phone are fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, proximity, compass and gyro sensors.
