After a long period of dormancy, Nokia is back with a bang and is all set to launch a range of smartphones in the market. This time Nokia has based all of their smartphones on Android platform and made sure that they have sufficient power under their hood. After numerous reports of Nokia 5, Nokia Edge, Nokia 8 etc., We heard some reports lately that Nokia will bring yet another smartphone; for the budget segment. There is already a lot of speculations related to the phone and we too are eager to know how this phone might turn out for users.
We came across a couple of leaked images that came to us via our sources; We can see that the phone has a sharp rectangular look complemented with smooth exteriors. The phone is expected to be available in two color variants i.e. white and black. Overall, the phone looks decent and will be eye catchy for sure. The phone is also rumored to come with a 5.2-inches IPS LCD Capacitive touchscreen that would provide screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and roughly correspond to 451 ppi rich screen. The display is also expected to be protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Protection. With the rumored specs, the display shall turn out to be a tough competitor for other budget phone makers. The UHD screen shall get bright enough and will look lively. The sunlight legibility and viewing angles shall be decent too.
Almost all of the online reports suggest that the phone might feature with a 1.4GHz Octa-core processor that would be backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset. The phone is also expected to be backed by 2GB of RAM. The Qualcomm processor used in the phone works decent enough and the processor is able to play light games and apps on the phone without any problem. However, one cannot expect the phone to play heavy games and heavily encoded videos, as the phone might lag or stutter a lot then. The phone is expected to run on Android v7.0 i.e. Nougat. The phone is rumored to come with 16GB of internal storage, which could be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. It is not yet clear whether Nokia will choose the traditional 2SIM + 1 MicroSD slot system or will use a Hybrid SIM slot, but we are almost certain the phone will support dual SIMs and will support 2G,3G and 4G networks.
There are lot of contrasting rumors as to what kind of cameras would be provided in the phone. However, many reports suggest that the Nokia Heart may feature a 13MP AF rear camera w/ LED flash. Also, an 8MP front camera will be provided in the phone. The camera seems promising despite the Nokia Heart being a budget phone. The primary camera shall support basic functions like Touch to focus and offers shooting modes such as Continuous Shooting, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). The camera setting would also include Exposure compensation and ISO control. HD Video recording will also done by the camera. Nokia has a long legacy of providing decent cameras in its smartphones and so we can expect the cameras provided in this phone would work well too. The cameras have the potential to take amazing images and it’ll be treat to take some great photos from a Nokia’s camera. The phone will also come with a loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
If we talk about the battery specs, currently there is no solid info as to what kind of battery would be provided in the phone. However, few of the reports suggest that the phone might feature with a 3000mAh Li-Ion battery that would be non user-removable. With the expected specs, one can easily expect the battery to last for a day with moderate to heavy usage. Many reports say that the battery might not support fast charging. Talking about the connectivity options, the phone is expected to offer basic connectivity options, such as, Yes, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, A-GPS, GLONASS, bluetooth version 5.0, A2DP, LE, microUSB version 3.1 and Type-C reversible connector. The phone will house three kinds of sensors i.e. ambient light sensor, accelerometer and proximity, which again is what we generally see in budget segment smartphones.
