Since the release of Samsung’s J series last year, all the three handsets have been picked up offline due to its maximum availability in the retail shops. In order to boost the sales online, Samsung has launched Galaxy On Max phablet. The smartphone was launched in July 2017 and is now available in various online shopping sites. The handset is expected to be the online version of Samsung Galaxy J7 Max version 2.0. The handset is all set to compete with Moto G5 Plus and showcasing three key features to attract its buyers - camera with 1.7 aperture, pay mini and social camera feature.
The ecstatic look of the smartphone is because of its curved edges and slim design which makes the grip of the model comfortable. The handset comes with the dimensions of 156.6 x 78.7 x 8.1 mm and weighs 178 grams which is on the bulkier side. This designer handset comes in two different colour variants - black and gold.
The multi-touch screen of the handset comes with 5.7 inches display with the resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels which sums up to 386 ppi approximately. The color TFT sharp screen makes the images, videos and text very clear and bright. The IPS LCD capacitive touch- screen smart phone comes with screen to body percentage of 72.3 %.
For a smooth and lag free experience, the handset is embedded with 2.4 GHz octa core MediaTek chipset. Also, the processor features Mali-T880 MP2 as GPU and cortex A-52 architecture. Coming to the software specifics, Galaxy On Max runs on Android v7.0 Nougat operating system. Moving ahead to the options of storage, the handset is having an inbuilt memory of 32GB and 4 GB RAM. The expandable option is available via a microSD card up to 256 GB. In short, the phablet runs the applications faster due to more RAM making the multi- tasking smoother. With this handset, user gets the benefit of incorporating two SIM cards (nano card slots - GSM+GSM).
The rear camera comes with a resolution of 13 MP, aperture - f/1.7 and an LED flash. The camera features touch to focus, digital zoom, auto flash and face detection. The shooting modes include HDR and continuous shooting. The front camera also comes with the resolution of 13 MP, aperture - f/1.9 and LED flash to give better quality images and videos.
The video recording can be done from both the cameras with the resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels @ 30fps. The resolution of the image is 4128 x 3096 pixels.
The audio format is WAV/ MP3 while the video format is WMV/ MP4 which is featured by this smart phone. The handset also features FM radio and a 3.5 mm head jack port.
The Li- ion type of battery comes with a capacity of 3300 mAh. It is strong enough to carry on up to twenty hours of talktime (in 3G). The handset does not feature turbocharging and the battery is non-removable.
For the network connectivity, the handset supports 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE. GPRS and EDGE is also available. The wireless connectivity options includes Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n), mobile hotspot, GPS (with A-GPS, GLONASS) and Bluetooth (v4.2). The wired connectivity option includes a micro USB v2.0 port. You will not be finding infrared, HDMI and NFC chipset in the connectivity options.
Apart from the front mounted fingerprint scanner, the smartphone also features other sensors like ambient light, proximity, gyroscope and accelerometer. The fingerprint sensor is having the capacity to register five fingerprints of the user.
