Samsung had issued a statement that they won’t be launching their flagship device, Galaxy S8, at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) that is to be held in Barcelona. However, it is believed that the Korean tech giant will participate in the upcoming tech event. As the company is expected to be taking part in the upcoming event many experts believe that the company might unveil its next-gen tab i.e. Galaxy Tab Pro S2. Even though, Samsung, has made no formal announcement for the upcoming tab, the device was recently spotted on Wi-Fi alliance when it received its certification. It has been generally observed that getting certifications is one of the final steps before a device is formally launched in the markets. Let’s see what this upcoming hybrid device has to offer.
When the original Tab Pro S was launched in the markets many users complained that the design of the tab was not very appealing. This time few experts believe that Samsung may finally make some design changes and make the upcoming tab look rather eye catching. We also hope that a USB port will be provided in the tab this time, as the previous tab posed a lot of problems to users because it lacked any kind of connectivity ports. Many reports also suggest that this time the tab will be launched in four color variants. Just like its predecessor, this time again the tab is expected to come with a keyboard and many experts say that this time Samsung might improve the general functionality of the keyboard. According to the leaked specs online, the tab is expected to feature with a 12-inch screen Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that shall provide a resolution of 2,160 x 1,440 pixels. With the rumored display one can easily get a decent viewing experience from the tab.
The Samsung Tab Pro S2 shall run on Microsoft Windows 10 just like its predecessor and shall compete with the Surface Pro 2 tablet. The tab is expected to feature an Intel Core M (Dual-core 2.2GHz) processor that would make sure that the tab is able to provide a power packed performance. The tab would be preloaded with Windows 10 and users can opt for either the Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro according to their needs. We hope that this time the performance of the tab would be much better than compared to its predecessor. This time again, the phone is expected to be launched in two models i.e. one with 4GB of RAM + 128GB SSD internal storage and other with 4GB RAM + 256GB SSD internal storage.
While the previous tablet featured with a 5.0MP rear-facing autofocus camera with 1080p HD video recording and a 5.0MP front-facing camera. Many reports suggest that the upcoming tab might feature with the better cameras. However, we cannot say anything as of now. The cameras would be able to take some decent images and one would be able to record videos at resolutions like FHD (1920X1080). The tab would be able to playback: 4K (3840X2160) videos, MP4, 3GP, WMV, ASF, AVI and MKV. The tablet will feature with Stereo microphones and Stereo speakers that would get loud enough, as its predecessor was able to get loud enough when the speakers were used at full volume.
The previous Samsung Tab Pro S featured with a large 5,020mAh (39.5Wh, 7.6V) battery that promised enough juice to run the tab for up to 10.5hrs. While it also supported fast charging, this time many people suggest that the battery specs could be slightly increased, but then again it would be no wonder if they do not increase the battery specs. Talking about connectivity options, the tablet is expected to have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/nac MIMO, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, GLONASS and Cat 6 LTE for communication. It is also rumored that this time the company will finally add a USB-C port. The other sensors that are expected in the tablet are ambient light sensor, accelerometer and hall.
