It’s all about innovation these days and smartphone manufacturers are trying their level best to provide latest in their devices. Last year in the month of November, Samsung hinted us all when they filed their patents for foldable smartphones. Even though, the patent gave some idea as to how the smartphone would look like, they, however, did not indicate as to when the smartphone would be announced or launched. There are many rumors available online that Samsung is already working on the foldable smartphones under the codename “Project Valley” and that the device is named as Galaxy X. Rumors already suggested that the smartphone could be launched in the later half of this year and that not one, but two smartphones shall be launched under the monikers Galaxy X. So, let’s see how the upcoming Samsung Galaxy X1 Plus might turn out to be in real life.
Referring to the patent that was filed by Samsung, we may expect the upcoming Samsung Galaxy X Plus to feature a “secondary” or “flexible” display. The patent states that the secondary display activates when the user folds the smartphone along a set axis. The patent clearly shows the bendable section that has been provided in the middle of the projected prototype. The users are expected to be able to fold the smartphones like flip phones by using the bendable section. The patent also states that a physical home button shall also be provided on the phone upon which we might expect to see the fingerprint scanner. Also, the volume and power buttons can be expected to be on the right edge of the phone. It is believed that the phone will feature a 4K OLED capacitive touchscreen that would provide a very large screen resolution. The 4K display would easily provide an amazing display to the phone. The best part about using the 4K screen is the fact that they get really bright and sunlight legibility remains impressive. The 4K display will make sure that the viewing experience remains exceptional. Overall, the phone is set to rock the smartphone markets.
Right now there is no information as to what kind of processor would be provided in the upcoming phone; one thing is for sure-the processor would be high end Exynos of Qualcomm. To be able to back a 4K display and huge number of rumored sensors, one can easily expect ‘the best’ configuration to be provided in the phone. It is rumored that the phone would feature with latest Android version i.e. Android 7.0 i.e. Nougat. Right now there is no information is to what kind of internal storage would be provided in the phone. However, it is believed that the phone will feature with 6GB of RAM that would enable the phone to work seamlessly. Right now, we are not sure if the phone would support dual SIMs. However, the phone will definitely support 4G/LTE networks.
Currently there is no intimation as to what kind of cameras would be provided in the phone. Few sites suggest that a 16MP rear camera and 8MP front camera would be provided in the phone, however, many reports suggest that even better cameras could be expected in the phone. Be whatever the case, the camera would definitely support features like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. Shooting modes will include Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). 4K HD video recording is also expected to be done by the camera. A loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm jack with active noise cancellation and dedicated mic is also expected to be provided with the phone.
It is believed that the phone will feature a non-removable battery. It is rumored that the battery will support quick charging. Currently, we have no information regarding the exact specifications that will be provided for the battery. Talking about connectivity options, the phone is expected to feature with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.2, A2DP, LE, A-GPS, GLONASS/ BDS (region dependent), NFC, Stereo FM radio with RDS; recording and USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. The other sensors that are expected in the phone are Fingerprint (front-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass. Now talking about other sensors that are rumored to be provided in the phone, it is believed that the phone would utilize various other biometric forms of sensors that would include face and palm apart from fingers.
