Samsung has a habit of launching upgraded version of its hit smartphones. While following the pattern, Samsung has planned to launch Galaxy Xcover 4 as an upgrade to its previous versions. Thus, making the phone a biennial series. Recently, Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 was seen to be listed on the Wi-Fi alliance, which suggests that the next-gen smartphone might be in the making. So, let’s see how this smartphone might turn out to be in real life.
There have been a lot of rumored images available online. However, almost all of them confirm that the phone shall have rugged exteriors. If we talk about the overall design of the phone, the phone seems to boast a rectangular body with slightly curved corners. Three physical buttons seem to be also provided on the bottom part of the display. Looking at the images, it appears that the volume buttons seem to be provided on the left edge of the phone while the power button seems to be provided on the right edge of the phone. Right now it is rumored that a black color variant of the phone is confirmed. Talking about the display of the phone, the phone shall feature with a 4.54 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that shall provide a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and corresponds to a pixel density of roughly 218ppi. The display shall also be protected by a scratch resistant glass. With the rumored specs, one can expect a rather basic display from the phone. The sunlight legibility might suffer a little as the screen might not get bright enough.
This phone is rumored to feature a Quad-core processor, while there is no information as to what kind of chipset would be used on the phone. We can certainly hope that the processor would be capable of providing a decent Android experience. Just like its predecessors, one may not be able to play heavy apps on this phone, as the phone might lag way too much. The phone is expected to work on Android version 6.0 i.e. Marshmallow, which is amazing. A 2 GB of RAM shall be provided in the phone, which we think shall be enough to run all kinds of basic apps. The internal memory provided in the phone is expected to be 16GB and many sources say that the internal memory could be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. The phone shall also provide support for 4G networks.
The phone might feature with an 8 MP primary camera that will be backed by a LED flashlight and auto focus. A 3.0MP front camera can also be expected in the front. We can hope that the images captured by the camera shall be decent enough and shall be rich with details. We hope that the images captured by the camera would be far better than its predecessors. The phone shall feature with a loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Talking about multimedia, the phone might support FM Radio with recording options, Video player shall also be provided in the phone that will be able to play video formats like 3GP and MP4. The music player shall be able to play audio formats like MP3, AMR, MiDi, and WAVE.
Talking about the rumored specs of the battery provided in the phone, it is believed that the phone shall come with a non-removable 2500 mAh Li-Ion battery. With the rumored battery specs, one shall be easily able to run the phone for a day with moderate to heavy usage. The connectivity options shall include Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Bluetooth Version 4.1, A2DP and microUSB 2.0. The phone comes with three kinds of sensors i.e. Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Compass, G-sensor and Proximity.
