INTRODUCTION

DESIGN AND DISPLAY

The phone features the signature Sony design with its rectangular shape and smooth front and back panel. The Sony Xperia Z2 Compact looks quite attractive and easily distinct itself in a group of smartphones. The phone features a camera button for an ultimate photo shoot experience. The external dimensions of the phone are 128 x 65 x 9.7 mm and weighs only 132 grammes. The Sony Xperia Z2 Compact features a 4.3 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen (Triluminos Display) touchscreen display that provide a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and roughly translates to 342 pixels-per-inch pixel density. The display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass protection which makes it resistant to scratches. The front camera comes with 2.2 MP whereas the rear camera comes to Large 1/2.3 CMOS Image Sensor and supports Video recording, Camera Effects, Scene Modes, Image Stabilization, Face Detection, Red-eye reduction, Touch focus, Sony G Lens and BIONZ, and AR Effect. HD Video recording can be done by the camera at frames like 1080p@30fps. The images captured by the camera are and full of colours. Images captured in a dim light turn out to be decent too. Talking about multimedia, the smartphone features stereo loudspeaker and 3.5mm audio jack with active noise cancellation and dedicated mike. The messaging sector of the phone has been put into the SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail, IM and the browser has been set to HTML 5 with no java support. The photo/video editor, a Document viewer, has also been added to the phone.
