Xiaomi has become a key player in the smartphone markets now. Almost all of their smartphones are a major hit and users have begun trusting Xiaomi as a global brand. They have been able to launch some highly successful flagship smartphones too and, just like many other smartphone manufacturers, they are launching their next gen smartphones too. Recently, there have been a lot of rumors regarding the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 smartphone. The rumored smartphone would be the latest successor to the Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series of smartphones. So, let’s see how this smartphone might turn out to be in real life.
As far as design is concerned, the phone will share an exactly similar design as its immediate predecessor. The phone will feature a 2.5D curved glass that will easily have an aesthetic advantage over the typical flat glass found in smartphones. The phone will come with three soft touch capacitive buttons and the fingerprint scanner shall be provided on the rear panel of the phone. If we go according to the leaked images, we can see that the volume rocker and power buttons appear be provided on the right edge of the phone and the stereo speaker appears to be provided on the bottom edge of the phone. The phone is expected to be available in three color variants i.e. blue, black and silver. It is rumored that the phone will feature a 5.5 inch FHD IPS LCD capacitive display that would provide a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Right now there is no indication as to what kind of Corning Gorilla Glass protection would be provided on the display. The FHD display will provide a pixel density of 401 ppi that would provide an eye catching display to the phone. We can certainly hope that the phone would be able to provide fantastic sunlight legibility and amazing viewing angles too.
If we follow the online rumors, the phone is expected to feature with a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core/Snapdragon 652 octa core chipset for the 3GB+32GB RAM/4GB +64GB ROM variant of the phone. The processor should easily prove to be competent enough to provide a seamless Android experience. The phone is also expected to feature a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU that would make sure that games and videos would be played without any problem. The internal storage of the phone could be increased up to 256GB using the hybrid SIM card slot that is expected in the phone. The phone is expected to run on Android platform and we hope it would feature with latest Android version 7.0 i.e. Nougat. The device’s stock Android is expected to be masked with the Xiaomi’s latest MIUI software. The phone will support dual SIM and would definitely support 4G/LTE networks.
According to the online rumors, it is believed that the phone will feature a 16MP camera that would be backed by phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flashlight. The phone will also feature an 8MP selfie shooter. The general camera features would include Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. Shooting modes should include Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). HD video recording would be done by the camera at frames like 1080p@30fps, 720p@60fps. With the rumored specs, one can expect the camera to capture decent images with lots of details. With the 8MP front camera, one shall be able to capture some amazing selfies. A loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm jack with active noise cancellation and dedicated mic shall also be provided with the phone.
It is believed that the phone will feature with a 4100mAh battery. It is also believed that the battery would support fast charging. However, if rumours are to be believed, one can easily expect the phone to work for a complete day even with heavy usage. Talking about connectivity options, the phone is expected to feature with Wi-Fi 802.11, a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth version 4.2, A-GPS, GLONASS and USB OTG. The other sensors that are expected in the phone include Fingerprint, Gyro, Light sensor, Proximity sensor and Accelerometer.
