ZTE is rumored to introduce a new smartphone which might host Snapdragon 425 SoC. It is expected to have a dual camera or the rear side and might flaunt 5” HD screen. The phone has been approved and certified by TENAA and is now on benchmarking at Geekbench. ZTE might launch this smartphone in the month of September 2017. It is Android based and therefore might target Android segment.
This TENAA certified smartphone, V0840 is expected to be released by ZTE in different colors like Green, Glacier Blue, Night Gray and Elegant Gold. The expected price of the phone is not known as the company has not yet officially declared its release. Although TENAA hasn’t revealed much about the phone except for a few of its main features, we have tried to accumulate little more information from different sources.
As per the leaked images, V0840 seems to have a metallic rear panel with a self-designed pattern on the bottom rear side. On the top rear side, there is a camera with LED focus. There seems to be a fingerprint sensor in the middle of the rear side again. In the top front, there is selfie shooter on one side and beside that speaker is located. The microphone is again located on the bottom side of the screen. The home button is embedded in the middle bottom.
V0840 is expected to sport 5” of HD display with a resolution of 1280*720. The phone dimensions are not yet known so we cannot comment anything on the screen to body ratio. Overall the phone might look decent when held in hand because of its premium design and beautiful colors.
ZTE V0840 expected to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and sports quad-core processor which is cloaked to 1.4 GHz. It might offer Snapdragon 425 SoC along with 3GB of RAM. Even though the phone has only four cores, the huge RAM will enable multitasking without any lags or delays.
The phone is expected to be released in two variants based on the amount of the internal space. The two variants might host 16GB and 32GB of internal memory respectively. The internal storage is not expandable, as the device has only single SIM option and there seems to be no separate slot for microSD card. The user might have to face the problem of shortage of internal memory because of the limited space provided.
TENAA has revealed that V0840 will host 8MP+8MP dual cameras on the rear side along with LED flash. On the front end, there is selfie camera of 5MP. Though the resolution of both the cameras seems to be less, but we are still not sure about their features and performances. The dual primary camera anyhow can give a better coverage and will allow taking photos even in dull lighting conditions because of the presence of flash. The front shooter will support video calling, and the dual rear cameras will support video recording.
As of now, we have no knowledge about the multimedia performance, video recording feature in cameras and other multimedia tools.
The phone is expected to come with a battery of capacity 2500mAh which is quite average. The battery seems to be non-removable. With the capacity of 2500mAh, we can expect the battery to last for not more than a day that too when used moderately.
The SIM slot is expected to support 4G connectivity with VoLTE. The phone will have only single SIM option which can be again a disappointing thing to the users.
Apart from this, ZTE V0840 might also host common connectivity options like GPRS-A, Wifi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, etc. There is no information on the other connectivity options as well as the sensors that the phone might host.
